Year Of No Light is a long-running band from Bordeaux, France who formed in 2001. Year Of No Light play a hauntingly atmospheric, dense, and oppressive style of music that incorporates elements of post metal, doom, sludge, and shoegaze within their sound. Musically, Year Of No Light can be loosely compared to bands such as Pelican, Isis, Nadja, Lightbearer, Neurosis, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2001, Year Of No Light have put out a total of fifteen LPs, EPs, splits, and singles in their 20 years of existence. Consolamentum is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Pelagic records on July 2nd, 2021. On Consolamentum, Year Of No Light offer up five tracks of hauntingly atmospheric, dense, and oppressive sounding post metal, doom, sludge, and shoegaze.
