Meat Wave is a three piece band from Chicago Illinois who formed in 2011. Meat Wave play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of tense, angular, and discordant sounding punk, grunge, and indie rock. Musically, Meat Wave can be loosely compared to bands such as Metz, Whores, Bummer, Pinko, Ribbonhead, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2011, Meat Wave have released a self-titled nine song LP in October of 2012, a seven song EP titled Brother in January of 2015, a thirteen song LP titled Delusion Moon in September of 2015, a five song EP on Audiotree Live in September of 2015, a twelve song LP titled The Incessant in February of 2017, a two song EP titled Shame/Dogs At Night in January of 2018, and a split 7" with Lifestyles in October of 2018. Volcano Park is the band's latest 12", which was released via Big Scary Monsters records on June 11th, 2021. On Volcano Park, Meat Wave offer up six tracks of driving, discordant, and somewhat melodic sounding punk, grunge, and noise rock. Overall, Volcano Park makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
