Soft Kill are a four piece band from Portland, Oregon who formed in 2010. Soft Kill play a dark, and gloomy style of post punk. Musically, Soft Kill can be said to be influenced by bands such as The Birthday Party, Christian Death, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2010, Soft Kill have released a five song demo titled An Open Door in October of 2010, an eight song LP titled Circle Of Trees in January of 2013, a six song EP titled Heresy in August of 2015, an eight song LP titled Choke in November of 2016, a two song 7" titled Texas Killing Fields in February of 2017, a digital cover of Tom Petty's Insider in October of 2017, a ten song LP titled Savior in May of 2018, a four song Part Time Punks EP in June of 2018, a four song EP titled Just A Body in August of 2018, a split 7" with Portrayal Of Guilt in September of 2019, a ten song LP compiling the band's demos from Savior titled A Plan To Suffer in December of 2019, an eight song LP titled Premium Drifter in April of 2020, a cover of Blitz's New Age in May of 2020, a two song EP titled Memory Loss in June of 2020, a ten song LP titled Dead Kids, R.I.P. City in November of 2020, a two song EP titled Sky in February of 2021, and a nineteen song live LP titled Live At The Crystal Ballroom in May of 2021. Not Quite Dracula Music is the band's latest LP, which was released on cassette via Cercle Social records on May 24th, 2021. On Not Quite Dracula Music, Soft Kill offer up nine tracks of dark, gloomy, yet impossibly catchy post punk. Overall, Not Quite Dracula Music makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
