Chordata is a two piece band from the US featuring Tom Schlatter (Hundreds Of Au, Capacities, Black Kites, Etc.) and Shawn Decker (Coma Regalia, etc.) who formed in 2020, from the looks of things. Chordata play moody and passionate style of music that incorporates elements of indie rock and emo within their sound. Musically, Chordata can be said to be influenced by bands such as Pygmy Lush, Empire, Empire (I Was A Lonely Estate), Eliot Smith, Algernon Cadwallader, Mineral, and other like-minded bands, Fissures is the band's debut LP, which was released via Middle Man records on March 5th, 2021. On Fissures, Chordata offer up thirteen tracks of moody and passionate sounding indie rock and emo. Overall, Fissures makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.
