Here's a killer 7" featuring new material from Seattle, WA's Great Falls and Boise Idaho's Throes. Great Falls is a three piece band from Seattle, Washington who formed in 2010, from the looks of things. Great Falls features members of Playing Enemy, Jesu, Kiss It Goodbye, and Undertow. Great Falls play a killer style of music that incorporates elements on hardcore, punk, sludge, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Great Falls can be said to be influenced by bands such as Harkonen, Fight Amp, Engineer, and Breather Resist. Since their inception in 2010, Great Falls have released an impressive amount of material that includes a split cassette with Japan's Kenji Siratori in May of 2010, a split with Tonal Pastor in May of 2010, a nine song LP titled Fontanelle in July of 2011, a two song single titled Bank Agnostic/Frank Apple in May of 2011, a split Cdr with A Death Cinematic in October of 2011, an eight song demo in July of 2011, a single titled Everything But Lightening in February of 2014, a cover of Robocop's battle theme in February of 2014, an eight song LP titled Accidents Grotesque in February of 2014, a split 7" with Thou in May of 2015, a full-length LP titled A Sense Of Rest in December of 2018, a split 7" with Throat in February of 2019, a split 7" with Heiress in February of 2019, a two song experimental noise EP titled Field Stripping in October of 2020, and a two song EP titled Eulerean in February of 2021. On their side of the split Great Falls offer up one track of ugly, harsh, and abrasive sounding hardcore, punk, sludge, and noise rock. The next two songs on the split come courtesy of Throes. Throes is a five piece band from Boise, Idaho who formed in 2015. Throes features members of Bone Dance and Downsided, so going on that alone, you know you're in for something truly special. Throes play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, punk, metal, sludge, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Throes can be loosely compared to bands such as Breather Resist, Achilles, Engineer, Cult Leader, Senior Fellows, Reproacher, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2015, Throes have released a six song EP titled To Dust in December of 2015 and a nine song LP titled In The Hands Of An Angry God in July of 2019. On their side of the split Throes offer up two tracks of chaotic, volatile, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, metal, sludge, and noise rock. Overall, this is an amazing split and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! This amazing split was released via Dropping Bombs records on February 9th, 2021!
