Record Setter are a four piece band from Denton, Texas who formed in 2014, from the looks of things. Record Setter play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, alt. rock, emo, and screamo within their sound. Musically, Record Setter can be loosely compared to bands such as We Were Skeletons, Touche Amore, older Pianos Become The Teeth, Football, Etc., Street Smart Cyclist, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2014, Record Setter has released an eight song EP titled Dim in July of 2014, an eight song EP titled Purge in June of 2017, and a three-way split with Sylvania Ave and Genius Christ in February of 2019. I Owe You Nothing is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Topshelf records on November 6th, 2020. On I Owe You Nothing, Record Setter offer up eleven tracks of killer post hardcore, alt. rock, emo, and screamo. Overall, I Owe You Nothing makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
