Hum are a four piece band from Champaign, Illinois who formed in 1989. Hum play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, shoegaze, and alt. rock within their sound. Musically, Hum can be loosely compared to bands such as Failure, Quicksand, Aegis, Narrow Head, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 1989, Hum have released a full-length LP titled Fillet Show in 1991, a full-length LP titled Electra 2000 in October of 1993, a full-length LP titled You'd Prefer An Astronaut in April of 1995, a full-length LP titled Downward Is Heaven in January of 1998, as well as two demos and seven singles between 1992-1998. Inlet is the band's first full-length album since 1998 and shows the band back in full-swing. Inlet was released via Polyvinyl records on June 23rd, 2020. On Inlet, Hum offer up eight tracks of hazy and dreamy post hardcore, shoegaze, and alt. rock. Overall, Inlet makes for an amazing listen and will probably end up as being one of my favorite albums of the year. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
