Old Man Gloom is a four piece band from New Mexico and Boston, MA who formed in 1999. Old Man Gloom features members of Jesuit, Cave In, Converge, Doomriders, Isis, Sumac, and many other amazing bands from the underground metal scene. Old Man Gloom play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post metal, doom, sludge, and experimental noise within their sound. Since forming in 1999, Old Man Gloom have released a thirteen song LP titled Meditations In B in August of 2000, an LP titled Seminar III: Zozobra in March of 2001, a 17 song LP titled Seminar II: The Holy Rites Of Primitive Regressionism in March of 2001, a thirteen song LP titled Christmas in August of 2004, a nine song LP titled No in June of 2012, a re-mastered version of Meditations In B in April of 2015, two albums titled Ape Of God I and II in November of 2014, and a seven song LP titled Seminar IX: Darkness Of Being in March of 2020. Seminar VIII: Light Of Meaning is the band's latest LP, which is slated for release on May 22nd, 2020. On Seminar VIII: Light Of Meaning, Old Man Gloom offer up six tracks of brilliantly played, harsh, and brutal as fuck sounding post metal, doom, sludge, and noise. Overall, Seminar VIII: Light Of Being makes for an amazing listen and will definitely end up as being one of my favorite albums of the year. Look for Seminar VIII: Light Of Meaning to be released in conjunction with a second album titled Seminar IX: Darkness Of Being via Profound Lore records on May 22nd, 2020.
