Elder is a four piece band from New Bedford, MA who formed in 2005. Elder play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of doom, progressive metal, and psychedelic rock within their sound. Musically, Elder can be loosely compared to bands such as Windhand, Pallbearer, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Black Sabbath, Cloak, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2005, Elder have released a self-titled nine song LP in January of 2008, a five song LP titled Dead Roots Stirring in January of 2011, a two song 12" titled Dead Roots Stirring in April of 2012, a five song LP titled Lore in February of 2015, a six song double LP titled Reflections Of A Floating World in June of 2017, and a three song EP titled The Gold And Silver Sessions in July of 2019. Omens is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Armageddon Label and Stickman records on April 24th, 2020. On Omens, Elder offer up five tracks of progressive sounding doom, metal, and psychedelic rock. Overall, Omens makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended!
