Holy fuck! This absolutely made my day when DSGNS reached out to me and informed me that they were releasing a new EP, and which is their first new material in about four years. DSGNS is a
band I've been following for quite some time since they requested a review back when I was
writing for Elementary Revolt and Manic Compression. DSGNS is a four piece band from Austin, Texas who formed in late 2011. DSGNS play a
caustic, vicious, and brutal as fuck sounding style of noise damaged metallic
hardcore. Musically, DSGNS can be said to be influenced by bands such
as Some Girls, Jesuit, Breather Resist, Engineer, The Minor Times, and other like-minded
bands. Since their inception in 2011, DSGNS have released a four song
EP titled WSTLND in January of 2012, a four song EP titled LXCN in
January of 2012, a split with Uglytwin in February of 2013, a two
song EP titled Sexed And Bloated in February of 2015, a twelve song LP titled Hexes in August of 2015, and a split EP with Venomspitter in June of 2016. Ceremony is DSGNS' latest EP, which was released on January 10th, 2019. On Ceremony, DSGNS offer up six tracks of scathing,
vicious, and brutal as fuck sounding noise-tinged metallic hardcore.
Overall, Ceremony makes for an amazing listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly
recommended! Enjoy!
