Holy Fuck! This is the best way to ring in 2019! Scalp The Pioneer is three piece band from Boston, MA who formed in 2015. Scalp The Pioneer features ex-member As The Sun Sets, Daughters, and Hospital Bomber, so going on that alone, you know you're in for something truly special. Scalp The Pioneer play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, sludge, grindcore, and powerviolence within their sound. Musically, Scalp The Pioneer can be loosely compared to bands such as Fulgora, Lunglust, Fucking Invincible, Jesuit, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2017, Scalp The Pioneer have released a self-titled demo in April of 2017, a digital single titled Alston 4:20 in December of 2017, a four track EP titled Graveyard Tan in April of 2018, a three song EP titled Fentanyl I See.. in January of 2019, and a digital single titled Fuck You Forever in September of 2019. The Idiot's Guide To Self-Hatred is the band's latest EP, which was released on November 7th, 2019. On The Idiot's Guide To Self-Hatred, Scalp The Pioneer offer up seven tracks of volatile, chaotic, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, sludge, grindcore, and powerviolence. Overall, The Idiot's Guide To Self-Hatred makes for a awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
