Mortality Rate is a four piece band from Calgary, Alberta, Canada who formed in 2014, from the looks of things. Mortality Rate play a chaotic, volatile, and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and metal within their sound. Musically, Mortality Rate can be loosely compared to bands such as Bailer, Sanctioned, Converge, God Mother, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2014, Mortality Rate have released a digital single titled Snake Charmer in April of 2015, an eight song LP titled Sleep Deprivation in April of 2016, and a split with Judiciary in July of 2017. You Were The Gasoline is the band's latest EP, which was released on April 26th, 2019. On You Were The Gasoline, Mortality Rate offer up six tracks of chaotic, volatile, and brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, and metal. Overall, You Were The Gasoline makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
