Herod is a four piece band from Vevey, Switzerland who formed in 2013, from the looks of things. Herod play a killer style of progressive post metal and sludge. Musically, Herod cite Breach, The Chariot, Stairland, Cult of Luna, Switchblade, Converge, Meshuggah, Scarlet, Ion Dissonance, King Crimson, Sophie Hunger, and Shora as influences which shows up in the band's sound. Since forming in 2013, Herod have released an eleven song LP titled They Were None in April of 2014. Sombre Dessein is the band's latest LP, which was released via Pelagic records on February 15th, 2019. On Sombre Dessein, Herod offer up seven tracks of progressive post metal and sludge. Overall, Sombre Dessein makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
