Rayleigh is a five piece band from Alberta, Edmonton, Canada who formed in 2013. Rayleigh features members of Mahria and Obroa-skai, so going on that alone, you know you're in for something truly special. Rayleigh play a downtuned, heavy and chaotic form of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, screamo, and sludge within their sound. Musically, Rayleigh can be loosely compared to bands such as Carrion Spring, Totem Skin, Relics, Furnace, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2013, Rayleigh have released a self-titled six song EP in October of 2013, and an eleven song LP titled If History in May of 2018. Last Word is the band's latest, and sadly final EP, which was released via Zegema Beach records on March 26th, 2019. On Last Word, Rayleigh offer up four tracks of dark, heavy, and chaotic sounding hardcore, punk, crust, screamo, and sludge. Overall, Last Word makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended!
