Here's a killer split 7" featuring new material from Huntsville, Alabama's Heel Turn and New Orlean's Ekumen. Heel Turn is a four piece band from Huntsville, Alabama who formed in 2017, from the looks of things. Heel Turn play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, metal, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Heel Turn can be loosely compared to bands such as Axis, Black God, Black Cross, Breather Resist, Fight Amp, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2017, Heel Turn have released a six track EP titled Territories in April of 2018 and a three song EP titled Death Calls, Fear Ceases in February of 2019. On their side of the split, Heel Turn offer up two tracks of brutal as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, metal, and noise rock. The second two songs on the split come courtesy of Ekumen. Ekumen is a five piece band from New Orleans, Louisiana who formed in 2016, from the looks of things. Ekumen play a tense, discordant, and off-kilter style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, and noise rock within their sound. Musically, Ekumen can be loosely compared to bands such as Coherence, Super Unison, Suicide Note, later era Sweet Cobra, Gouge Away, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2017, Ekumen have released a self-titled demo in January of 2017 and a recently released full-length LP in May of 2019. On their side of the split, Ekumen offer up two tracks of tense and discordant sounding hardcore, punk, and noise rock.
