Thin Lips are a three piece band from Philadelphia, PA who formed in 2013. Thin Lips features members of The Dangerous Ponies and cite Dogs on Acid, Algernon Cadwallader, Hop Along, The Weaks, Manners, Amanda X, Waxahatchee, Radiator Hospital, and The Extraordinaires as influences or artists Thin Lips are inspired by. Thin Lips play a killer style of chunky, riff laden punk and grunge rock with a cool lo-fi vibe. Thin Lips essentially take the chunky guitar riffs of bands like California X and filter that sound through the melody of bands such as Lemuria. Since forming in 2013, Thin Lips have released a two song 7" titled Gemini Moon in November of 2013, a four song cassette titled Divorce Year in May of 2015, and a ten song LP titled Riff Hard in May of 2016. Chosen Family is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Lame-O records on July 27th, 2018. On Chosen Family, Thin Lips offer up thirteen tracks of energetic and catchy as hell sounding punk, grunge, and lo-fi indie rock. Overall, Chosen Family is a killer LP and should not be missed.
