Slingjaw Wrasse is a two piece band from Chicago, Illinois who formed in 2017, from the looks of things. Slingjaw Wrasse play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of math rock, noise rock, metal, and sludge within their sound. Slingjaw Wrasse primarily utilize drums and bass to create their music, which I find pretty unique. Since forming in 2017, Slingjaw Wrasse have released a four song EP titled Wilfred in June of 2018, a six song LP titled Cranial Aperture Preparations in June of 2018, a three song LP titled Mutinous Debacle in July of 2018, a three song EP titled Phyll Collins' in November of 2018, and a six song LP titled Bubby in January of 2019. Thumpy is Slingjaw Wrasse's latest three song EP, which was released on January 20th, 2019. On Thumpy, Slingjaw Wrasse offer up three tracks of tense, angular, and discordant sounding math rock, noise rock, metal, and sludge.
