Retirement Party is a three piece band from Chicago, Illinois who formed in October of 2016. Retirement Party play an energetic and catchy as hell style of music that incorporates elements of punk, emo, alt. rock, and indie rock within their sound. Musically, Retirement Party can be loosely compared to bands such as Hop Along, Thin Lips, Cayetena, Lumuria, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2016, Retirement Party have released a five song EP titled Strictly Speaking in January of 2017 and a six song Live on Audiotree EP in July of 2018. Somewhat Literate is the band's debut full-length LP, which was released via Counter Intuitive and Big Scary Monsters on May 25th, 2018. On Somewhat Literate, Retirement Party offer up eleven tracks of catchy as hell and energetic sounding punk, emo, alt. rock, and indie rock. Overall, Somewhat Literate makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
