Darklands is a three piece band from Providence, Rhode Island who formed in 2013. Darklands play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of post hardcore, post punk, shoegaze, and indie rock within their sound. Musically, Darklands can be said to be influenced by bands such as Failure, Hum, Built To Spill, My Bloody Valentine, Broken Water, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2013, Darklands have released a self-titled demo in June of 2013, a second self-titled EP in November of 2013, a five song EP titled St. Thaddeus in August of 2015, and a split EP with Twin Foxes in August of 2017. Hate It Here is the band's debut LP, which was released via Atomic Action! records on May 11th, 2018. On Hate It Here, Darklands offer up eight tracks of killer post hardcore, post punk, shoegaze, and indie rock. Overall, Hate It Here makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.
