Portal is a four piece band from Australia who formed in 1994. Portal play a bleak, cold, and oppressive style of dystopian death metal. Portal's sound can be best described as a seething mass of energy, which translates well with the band's style of technical death metal. When I first started listening to this album, I was surprised that this is the band's fifth full-length, seeing that I've never heard of Portal before giving this album a spin. Portal's sound definitely gives you a sense of claustrophobia and anxiety, which definitely gives this album an overall sick and twisted vibe. I'm horrible at drawing comparisons with modern death metal bands, so it's completely up to you in deciding musical influences. Ion is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released via Profound Lore records on January 26th, 2018. On Ion, Portal deliver nine tracks of vicious and brutal as fuck sounding technical death metal. Overall, Portal makes for a great listen and definitely should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!

am I the only one having a hard time opening the rars? they're behaving as if they're password protected
They're not. Try downloading winrar.
thanks but I'm on osx, and my rar unarchiving program that I've had for years is having trouble with a few of these. not my first rodeo
Hey, so yeah, nothing is password protected here, but I use Windows with winrar so I can't help you out as I am a Windows elitist. I would ask in the chat to see if there are any OSX users with solutions
