Scowl is a four piece band from Brooklyn, NYC who formed in 2010. Scowl play a vicious and devastating style of music that blends elements of hardcore, punk, sludge, grindcore, and powerviolence within their sound. Musically, Scowl can be said to be influenced by bands such as Iron Lung, Left For Dead, Haymaker, Crossed Out, Negative Approach, and other like-minded bands. Since forming in 2010, Scowl have released a track on the Fast//Violence compilation in May of 2013, a live cassette recorded live at ABC No Rio titled Welcome To The Johnsons in July of 2013, and a ten song EP titled Grindcore Is Serious Business in April of 2013. Quemés Una Iglesia Para Encender La Mota is the band's latest full-length LP, which was released on July 24th, 2015. On Quemés Una Iglesia Para Encender La Mota, Scowl offer up sixteen tracks of brutal and vicious as fuck sounding hardcore, punk, sludge, grindcore, and powerviolence.
