Wren is a four piece band from London, UK who formed in late 2013, from the looks of things. Wren play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of sludge, noise rock, and post metal within their sound. Musically, Wren can be said to be influenced by bands such as Old Man Gloom, Jesus Lizard, Neurosis, and Eyehategod. Since forming in 2013, Wren have released a self-titled four song EP in February of 2014 and a seven song LP titled Irk in March of 2015. Host is the band's latest four song EP, which is slated for release via Holy Roar records on April 29th, 2016. On Host, Wren offer up four tracks of dense, raw, and dirty as fuck sounding sludge, noise rock, and post metal. Overall, Host is an amazing EP and Wren is an absolute must listen for fans of Pigs, T-Tops, Bardus, and Nightslug. Seriously, this has got to be one of the best EPs I've heard all week.
