as far as im concerned, when it comes to melodic crust theres tragedy and from ashes rise and then theres everything else. human compost are one of the few that blur that line. I didn't want to use tragedy or from ashes rise as a comparison in the header because honestly theres a million clones out there and when I hear that comparison I usually pass on that band. not because I don't respect using those bands as influence, because they are truly elite bands and have their place on the imaginary great band totem pole in my head, but because most who attempt that style just come off boring and its kind of a "already heard this a 1000 times" thing. human compost doesn't fall into that category. they take take that melodic crust template and use it as the backbone for what theyre doing. that melodic crust holds up they other infuences here. these guys add in a lot grind and death elements but I think the one thing that sets them apart is the guitar work. I mean really a lot of these riffs sound they could have been ripped right off of trustkill or ferret or eulogys late 90s roster. back when metalcore was great before the army of killswitch engages came along and crapped it up. I love that era of metalcore. it was a big part of my youth. endeavor, harvest, torn apart, morning again, and the list goes on and on. whether its intentional or not I don't know but human compost channels that era perfectly. these guys have been around since 2006 and have all their release up for nyp on their bandcamp. get in this shit now.

Trustkill and ferret were pretty terrible.
Not in the beginning. By the mid 2000s they were. As was the rest of the genre
