Utah Jazz is a three piece band from Buffalo, New York who formed in late 2010, from the looks of things. Utah Jazz feature former members of Brown Sugar and Mayday, which is definitely a good thing in my book because I was a huge fan of Brown Sugar. Utah Jazz play a hook laden and at times psychedelic sounding style of music that incorporates elements of punk, grunge, and garage rock within their sound. Musically, Utah Jazz can be said to be influenced by bands such as the MC5, Iggy And The Stooges, as well as more modern bands such as Karp and Hot Snakes. Since their inception in 2010, Utah Jazz have released an eight song demo cassette in January of 2011 and a self-titled five song EP in March of 2012. Ivory Wave is Utah Jazz's debut full-length LP, which was released vinyl and cassette via Block Dots records on August 18th, 2015. On Ivory Wave, Utah Jazz offer up ten tracks of bratty and snotty sounding punk, grunge, and garage rock. Overall, Ivory Wave is a killer album and should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
