The Saddest Landscape is a four piece post hardcore and screamo band from Boston, MA who formed in 2002. The Saddest Landscape are arguably one of the best and most prolific bands that ever came out of the post hardcore/screamo scene in the past decade. I've been a fan of The Saddest Landscape since the band's beginnings and even before that when members played in a sadly unknown and underappreciated band called The Last Forty Seconds. The Saddest Landscape's discography is expansive, so I'll spare you the tedium of listing all the band's releases, which includes multiple LPs and multiple splits with numerous bands through out the years. Darkness Forgives is The Saddest Landscape's fifth full-length and is actually their latest full-length album since After The Lights was released in 2012. On Darkness Forgives, The Saddest Landscape offer up ten songs of tense and highly emotive post hardcore and screamo. Overall, Darkness Forgives is probably the best album The Saddest Landscape has ever released. Darkness Forgives showcases The Saddest Landscape at their best and will probably end up being my favorite album of the year. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
