Priest is a two piece band from Utica, New York who formed in early 2013 from the looks of things. Priest play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, and sludge within their sound. Priest cite Converge, Botch, GAZA, Cult Leader, Coilguns, Engineer, Baptists, Code Orange, Full of Hell, Mastodon, Ion Dissonance, SikTh, Nice Hooves, The Armed, Tharsis They, Young and in the Way, Yautja, The Secret, Plebeian Grandstand, and Ken Mode as influences, so going on that alone, you know you're in for a truly brutal listen when it comes to the band's sound. Musically, Priest can be loosely compared to bands such as Trap Them, Baptists, Divider and other like-minded bands. Rust And Grief is Priest's latest five song EP, which was released digitally on October 3rd, 2015. On Rust And Grief, Priest offer up five tracks of blackened, metallic, and crust tinged hardcore. Overall, Rust And Grief is a killer EP and should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
