Cape Of Bats is a four piece band from Philadelphia, PA who formed in late 2011, from the looks of things. Cape Of Bats play a killer style of primitive American black metal mixed with strong crust and punk leanings. Musically, Cape Of Bats features a muddy/raw sound, vicious as fuck vocals, and a lo-fi produced sound that really completes the package as far as the band's sound is concerned. Since their inception in 2011, Cape Of Bats have released a four song EP titled Transylvania in December of 2012, a four song EP titled Olcott Rites in March of 2013, a split 7" with Japan's AVN titled Black Mass Of Jihad in May of 2013, a three song EP titled Ash Black Autumn in November of 2014, and a split 7" with Vermaphyre in May of 2015. Violent Occultism is Cape Of Bat's latest full-length LP, which was released on cassette via Broken Limbs Recordings on October 13th, 2015. On Violent Occultism, Cape Of Bats offer up thirteen tracks of killer black metal infused with punk and crust. Overall, Violent Occultism is a killer LP and should not be missed.
