Smiling is a five piece band from Seattle, Washington who formed in late 2014, from the looks of things. Smiling feature members of Weed, Stickers, Footwork, The Exquisites, and Nail Polish and play a spastic and completely unhinged style of noise damaged hardcore and punk with a killer early-late 90's San Diego/31G records vibe. Musically, Smiling can be said to be influenced by bands such as Swing Kids, Locust, Arab On Radar, Some Girls, and other like-minded bands. Since their inception in 2014, Smiling have released a fourteen song cassette titled Pink in April of 2015. Passionate One is Smiling's latest eleven song cassette, which is slated for release in late November according to the band. Passionate one features eleven songs of messy and completely unhinged sounding noise-damaged hardcore with the whole album lasting a little over the nine minute mark. Overall, Passionate One is completely off the chain and should not be missed. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
