Holy shit! Where did this band come from? Abest is a five piece band from Göttingen, Kassel, Lüneburg, and Bielefeld, Germany who formed in March of 2012. Abest play a dark, oppressive, and ominous style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, crust, post hardcore, and post metal within their sound. Musically, Abest can be said to be influenced by bands such as Amen Ra, Old Man Gloom, Lightbearer, Alpinist, and Planks. Asylum is Abest's latest full-length LP, which was released via This Charming Man records on May 16th, 2014. On their latest full-length LP, Abest offer up seven tracks of insanely heavy hardcore, punk, crust, post metal, and sludge. Overall, Asylum is an incredible album that should not be missed.
