Tidemouth is a four piece band from Los Angeles, CA who formed in 2008. Tidmouth started out being a chaotic and volatile screamo band influenced by bands such as Orchid, Pg. 99, and Jerome's Dream. Since their beginnings there has been something that always intrigued me because the band really pushed the envelope with their and was not afraid to try different things with their sound and experiment. Fast forward to 2015, Tidemouth have returned after an almost five year hiatus since their last proper EP What I Meant To Say, Tidemouth have completely morphed into a completely band all together. Tidemouth have essentially become a dark wave, death rock, and goth rock tinged post hardcore band that was first hinted at back in February with their cover of Echo And The Bunnymen's The Killing Moon. Velvet And Stone is Tidemouth's newest album, Velvet And Stone is Tidemouth's most ambitious release to date. On their latest LP, Tidemouth have offered up ten tracks of dark and unsettling post hardcore that has a really great dark wave, death rock, and goth rock undercurrent. The ten songs on this album seethe with despair, frustration, and negativity, which translates into a savagely slow and deliberately nasty vibe. Overall, Velvet And Stone is an amazing album. Highly recommended! Enjoy!
