Hop Along are a four piece band from Philadelphia, PA who formed in 2004. Hop Along was originally called Hop Along, Queen Ansleis and was founded by front woman and guitarist Frances Quinlan. Hop Along eventually expanded their line-up to include Mark Quinlan on drums, Tyler Long on bass, and Joe Reinhart on guitar. Hop Along play a killer style of music that incorporates elements of punk, indie rock, grunge, and emo within their sound. Musically, Hop Along can be loosely affiliated with bands such as Ume, Lemuria, and California X. Since their inception in 2008, Hop Along have released a sixteen song LP titled Freshman Year in 2006, a seven song LP titled Is Something Wrong in 2009, a four song EP titled Wretches in 2009, and a ten song LP titled Get Disowned in 2012. Painted Shut is the band's latest ten song LP, which was released via Saddle Creek records on May 4th, 2015. Painted Shut features ten amazing tracks of punk, indie rock, grunge, and emo that features vocals that will cause shivers to run down your spine. Seriously, this is one of the best indie rock albums you will hear all year. Seriously, I can't recommend this album enough. Highly recommended! Enjoy! On a side note, I saw Hop Along perform live in Portland, ME on 5/7/15 and it was one of the best shows I've seen all year. Check out the video below.
